Yep some SOB got mine last night out of my driveway. Popped the lock and got it and $600+ of tools that was under my bed cover. Just in time for me to leave on vacation this Thursday. I'm still pissed!

Wait for the clown to list it on craigslist in a day, then pay them a visit a short time later.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I hates thieves! So you're saying your tailgate was locked?

Yep locked, part if the latch was left behind on the ground. I guess it's the camera they were after. A new platinum gate is $4200.

I had mine stolen about 8 years ago and it as mad as I was over a $1,000 tailgate I can't imagine how mad I would be over one that expensive. I would file a police report on it and be talking to your insurance company to see if they will cover it. Mine was stolen on company property while I was at work, so I raised a fuss until they agreed to pay for it.

I saw where a girl did that with her bicycle a while back. The cops wouldn't help her so she started searching craigslist and found it herself, arranged to meet the guy and he let her test drive it before she bought it. She just kept going and never looked back lol.

Police report was filed, and I'm sure insurance (usaa) will cover it. What gets my goat is every truck I had before I put a stainless hose clamp on the open hinge side to maybe make a thief move on. Well this one I hadn't got around to it yet.

That's really unfortunate, but hopefully insurance will take care of it.

Unfortunately if they were diligent enough to pop the lock they would probably unscrew the hose clamp too. Really sorry to hear some thief got your stuff, hopefully your insurance takes care of it.

Sadly, that is true. If a thief wants something they are going to get it one way or another. I have never understood steel doors, deadbolts and **** locks on a house when there is 1/4 inch thick glass right beside of it. Same for vehicles. They will get in one way or another no matter how hard you try to keep them out.

Well after talking to the dealership I was told a screwdriver in the edge of the lock and it's unlocked in less the a second. So maybe a hose clamp would have more useful then the lock.

I put a hose clamp on mine too---so far, so good. The only reason they steal them is to sale. like it's been said, check craig's list in your area, and you might find it.
