2.8 --> 4,0 Conversion

hello all...
Ive a 84 ranger 2.8 auto and old and tired looking to do what is been done before but finding little info on... a 2.8 to 4.0 conversion. I dont want big hp from a v8 nor do i want the cramp space in the eng bay. Id like u all to post or email me with all detials u can about what I might expect.. have done mustand eng conversion and also Tbird 4cyl turbo to v8 conversions.. but not small v6. I also say a guys website where he put a 8.8 rear end in it... is this possible.. cause i live on a farm and limited slip is an issue also could use the increase strength of 8.8 vs the 7.5... thx jim jimbutterfield(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
