81 F100 stepside, wood bed

Does anyone know a good supplier for the wood sections in older truck beds like mine? Some sections are missing, others are rotted, and I'm looking to replace them.

I bought mine at MAR-K Catalog - Select Your Truck

Worked out very well.
I also bought hardware kit there too.

I was going to use these people. They have been shown in truck magazines in the pas t before. Like wise you can get any wood from plain old Oak all the way up to Burmese teak if you dont mind paying the cost.

All Bed Wood & Parts Products

Im personally thinking of going with Red Oak for mine. The whole bed wood kit is under $400 pre cut but not drilled.

That is somewhat what I did back in the 90`s, but I used treated lumber, then painted it body color. Lasted a good long time but it still rotted out eventually.

This time I want to varnish and seal the wood on all ends for a nice "show" finish. Not like I will use the truck for hauling, pulling maybe but not hauling.

I Just did an old railroad cart in white oak stained and sealed all six sides then assembled when 4 coats of marine grade clear was dry. Mood still moves and brakes the seal.
Try the new plastic/wood composite they us for house trim if you want "No Rot"

Do you happen to know how much you paid for everything?

If I remember correctly the wood and the stainless strips with stainless bolts came to about $650.00 and the clear came in around $100 total.

Not cheap but worth it to me.

No, not cheap, but that seems to be the price for oak everywhere.

I'm gonna say that getting these boards precut was very very nice and they fit perfectly. All I had to do was lightly sand and coat with clear. I let them sit for about a week to dry before I installed everything.
