What To Look For When Buying
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Currently I drive a 2012 F-150 Lariat and I'm looking at purchasing a 2011 F-250 4-door Lariat, FX4 Pkge.
I need to know what to look for in so far as problem areas and any input would be most welcome.
The truck is a 6.7l Diesel with 33k miles on it.
Things I've noticed already just from a test drive include:
**Check coolant additive warning
**The brakes seem to take a bit more pressure and distance for stopping - is this indicative of being a tow-vehicle or is it just the added weight vs. the braking system? By the scratches on the safety chain attaching points, it's apparent that it's towed something, at some point.
**Also, the front seats seem a little uncomfortable. It that because of the heating & cooling elements in the seat?
** the Rancho shocks seem a little worn, but usable.
Thank you all for your input and comments!

I had an 2010 F-150 FX4 Loaded, and it stopped quicker, and the seats were more comfortable. I wouldn't trade my F-250 for one though. It is so much more truck.
I don't think the seat comfort is affected by the heating/cooling parts. I have driven XL, XLT's and so on, and the seats are just different and bigger than the F-150's.
The stopping imo is due to the truck weighing over 7k lbs.
The "Rancho" shocks on the FX4 F-250 is more of a branding thing versus say the Rancho 9000XL's that Rancho sells I believe. People love the the 9000's on the FX4 it seems.
The coolant additive check should have been done at 30k mile maintenance I think, it involves It's test strips, 1 chemical vial, and about 20 minutes of time.
