Gents and maybe ladies,

Having trouble determining the max trailer weight my 2003 F-150 5.4 L could handle?
Front GAWR is 3250 lbs. Rear is 3600 lbs. GVWR is 6600 lbs. Wheel base is 139".

Thank you.

Look in your owner manual beginning page 165 under towing.
Pick out your trucks equipage for engine size, gear ratio and transmission.
First see total gross combined weight, then the trailer weight.
For example page 168 for 5.4L, 3:55 & the 16 inch tire size axle ratio, automatic transmission.
Max gross combined weight is 13,000 lbs.
Subtract your trucks loaded weight that means passengers, full tank of gas and anything else from 13,000 and you have your total legal "loaded" trailer weight.
Don't just go with the trailer weight given because you could go, over the max GCWR of 13,000 lbs.
Good luck.
