sloppy steering

I have had this '95 F250 powerstroke with 105k on it for 12 years. The steering has always been a little loose but I recently put a 2800 lb. camper on it and it seemed to get much sloppier. Is this alignment related? The camper drops it 2.5" at the rear axle. It has helwigs. Can I adjust this at the box or do I need to look for other wear points?

Personally, I had to replace my steering gearbox at 115k and then again at 225k. These gearboxes are more suited for an F150 than a heavy duty truck. I bought an autozone unit with lifetime warranty for around $150 if memory serves me correctly.
