Hello everybody, its been awhile since I been on. Life gets in the way.
I have been saving up to rebuild my 460 but I noticed my front end is so bad I can't even take it around the block anymore.
Looks like "kingpins" that hold the spindles to the axle are so bad I can rock the wheel an inch in both directions. Nearly 2 inches of travel, yikes! Also looks like the universles from the hub to the axles are completely mangled. To add insult to injury the output shaft seal seems to be leaking.
I have never worked on a straight axle before. How hard is it to replace all 4 king pins both universal joints and a seal? I keep looking on craigslist but I can't find a d44 local. So I can't price a value on buying another.
