More beer is always a good thing

I just did the numbers on real fuel (premium - no ethanol) here in Victoria Australia and it equals $ 6.58 US dollars a gallon.

It might be less expensive to run your truck on beer!

Not bloody likely, a case of pig-swil rubbish beer is $38 US, and a good beer (which is what I drink) starts at $ 52 US.

Hi again!

During the last eight weeks I started to disassemble the truck , I started by removing all the bodywork and then put aside the 4.9 In line six engine; I had to clean and re- clean the chassis and the frame to get to the bare metal

Unfortunately the metal part where the base of the cab rests on the back of this rusted so I'll have to make a new piece to replace the body mount .

This is a photo of the day wearing the truck to the place where I am working:

At the same time I started working on the engine, the 351w. Initially I bought disassemble the engine but unfortunately this had already been rectified and was at 0.60 so I had to go back to the junkyard and replace it , it made me spend a couple of weeks . The new engine is now ready to be armed and just hope to be able to locate some parts to start the assembly. Although it seems paradoxical to get some parts in my country is very complex.

Body parts all are in the body shop , they deem them ready for November 14th Rush me so I must end the frame in order to take it to body shop and assemble the parts . After four weekends working on the frame and ready to start building . In the process of cleaning, use a pressure washer , much degreaser , soap , effort and even oven cleaner

this is the result so far I have:

In mid-November I also here in my country to receive a batch of parts that you buy from LMC Truck and Bronco Grave Yard Jeff . With all these parts I hope to advance the assembly of the cab and to place the bed .

Please let me know how my work is going!! All the comments are welcome!!

Tomorrow morning i restart the work, on the night i will post anothers pics.

Hi Chris !

That place is the home of the family of a co worker of mine . It is a very large field that has that covered space where I am working . How about finishing the frame? fortunately was not too rusted

Hey, Juan

I have a friend who's been doing this to his 1970 (or so) Camaro, he's been at it for more than 6 years now (this is what happens when you have to work for a living, little time for fun stuff like this).

Do you guys have snow down there? I'm wondering what you're doing to prevent more rust from forming?

Oven cleaner *grin*

There is no snow in our country ! that makes the frames are kept very well , however excessive use and low maintenance is regularly seen here ends up harming them almost completely. I can only spend weekends on this project , so it is that despite having the truck for over a year and a half I got done what I told them .

Gary, thank you very much for your words ! . Those words to me from an expert as you are rewarding !!

A question Guys ; my truck did not have power windows and power locks so my harness does not have these circuits. Where I can get a full harness for use in the restoration ?

Do you have the power window and lock actuators? The window and lock motors? If so, you can make the harness. I'll have to scan in the wiring diagram, and I won't get to it for a few days with what is going on, but it really isn't too complicated if you understand wiring and electricity.

I'm sorry, but it is going to be some time before I can scan the wiring diagram in. My father is ill and I'm spending time with him.
