H&S MM DPF/EGR Question

I just installed my MM with the DPF & EGR still on the truck. I was wondering when I do actually do the deletes, how do I tell the MM that I did the deletes or is it smart enough to know how to do them. Also I never told the MM that I still am running the DPF, will it still go throguh the regen cycle?

If you just got the HS MM - you probably can't delete. The new ones sold in US don't have that option. You have to get the international version to get the delete option.

I am sure someone here can chime it on what the program you need to load looks like.

Yep, if you bought from their web site you have a street version and can't delete. If you bought from a speed shop they should have told you if it's a street tuner or not. If it's a fully functional tuner they should have charged you in the high teens or more. If when you installed and looked at the menu it didn't ask it the DPF was installed or deleted then you can't delete with that tuner.

I haven't installed my delete stuff or the tuner yet, but when I purchased from SPE, they included custom tunes that would allow the delete after installation of their tunes by way of MCC and an unlock. That may be what you got as well.

It is a Street Tuner. I bought it used from a guy. I paid $400 for it. I got to believe someone has built custom tunes through MCC to delete the DPF & EGR.

EO2SeaBee, are those custom tunes able to be emailed?

SPE emailed them to me, so they probably are, but I really don't know for sure. I put them on a memory stick along with the other stuff required to make my tuner delete capable after spending the bux for it, but no longer have the email.

How much did SPE charge you for all of the tunes? Or what is a copy of your memory stick worth to you?

Tunes are VIN specific and will only work on that vehicle. Your best bet is to call SPE and go over your options that you need. Certain Street Tuners can be loaded with off road tuning and some can't.

I paid roughly $1,800 to SPE for the mini-max, custom tune and MCC unlock. I'll have to think about it for a while, but if I decide to share, I wouldn't charge for the tune. It's nothing personal or me trying to be a jerk, but it may be similar to pirating music where the people who produce it make nothing off of it. Given some time to think about it, I may decide that is not the case. The tune may in fact be free, but you would likely still have to purchase an unlock. I really don't know.

That probably explains why I had to provide Amy with my VIN after they received my payment at SPE.

If you do any towing let me caution you not to tow on anything but a "stock" file with dpf delete. It cost me 5000$ plus because I forgot my H&S was on tune 2 and towed over Mount eagle TN. Blew a HG. That was a 6.4L but I'm pretty sure it will apply to the 6.7L.
