Look what I found today...

When I was doing an inspection before a trip this coming weekend, I found this. Other side is cracked but not torn off. Can anyone send a link and so steps to get this repaired? I have all the parts now.

New hanger/shackle should come with bolts/nuts. Support the frame to relieve the spring tension. Drill / grind off the rivets. Install new hanger/shackle with bolts/nuts.

Hopefully your bolt will come out of the spring with out too much trouble. I would spray some PB blaster on it to help loosen it up some.

Bought a grinder. Only way to go. Also bought a pneumatic hammer - it was a life saver.

Driver's side came off easy. Passenger side I can't get the bolt out. Haven't been able to get the bushing out of the leaf spring on the driver's side either. Will heat cure that as well?

Also wanted to shoot some kind of paint on it behind the shackle. Bought some POR 15 but didn't realize I needed the degreaser and metal prep. Is it the right stuff to go with? Anything easier? Someone mentioned Eastwood paint. Of course I limited in time since I need to use the truck this weekend. I know it's a small spot but want to avoid taking off in the future to paint.

We had to cut the bolts off then press the old bushings out. I was not fun but the press made things much easier. It is just a pain to have to remove the springs to do it.

So I got the bushings out without taking off the leaf. But I can't get the new one back in. I greased it up and I'm using a sliding c clamp tool my brother had to squeeze the thing back in. But it's not working. Any ideas?

My dad a better pneumatic chisel. It's amazing what high quality tools can do. It's all finished. And back together. New rear shocks. Front end work tomorrow. I'm beat.
