New to me 2000 7.3, already a problem.

Hey guys, I was hoping my first post here wasn't an issue but I just picked up a 2000 F250 7.3 xcab with 210k miles on it. Looks like a lot of maintenance has been done and it ran good when I picked it up and drove it 200 miles home. Anyways, last night I drove it to go help out a friend, mid gentle accel, RPMs dropped to 0 for a second then picked up and drove fine... about 30 seconds later it did it again, then another time worse and the SES light came on. I backed off the pedal and drove it slowly for a few minutes. I stopped at a light about 5 seconds after the light, it stalled and engine died. I coasted off the road and turned the key off, then started it no problem. The SES light was off and I drove it 5 minutes home. About 2 minutes from my house, the SES light came on but there was no hiccup or loss in power. Once I got home, I shut it down then restarted with no light.
I don't think any of this matters much but 20 miles before this happened, I topped the truck off with 10 gallons of Diesel from Sam's Club and added some diesel clean cetane boost (it was a bottle that treated a 100 gallons and I realized I probably added a little more than a 1/4 of the bottle). I also sprayed some corrosion detector/neutralizer on the battery terminals and replaced the wiper blades.
After a little searching last night, the symptoms seem similar to the TPS. I went ahead and ordered one because it was cheap. I also bought motorcraft 15-40 oil a motorcraft oil filter along with a wix fuel filter that I plan on doing tomorrow along with the TPS possibly.
Anyways, am I on the right track with this?
Thanks in advance for the input.

UVCH? is that the glow plug harness? THE PO said that had been done in the last year. Will Autozone scanner pick up the codes? Thanks,

The parts store scanners are hit and miss.
Cheaper to buy a cps and swap it than to take it to a dealer to get it scanned.
Odds are with what you describe its just a cps.
Uvch = under valve cover harness.
It handles the glow plugs and injectors.

haha, thanks... Well, I picked up the CPS today, TPS will be here tomorrow. I plan on installing both for safe measure and disconnecting the ifv or whatever is next to TPS to spray some electrical contact cleaner in it to clean it a bit. Any other cheap things that are good to replace while I'm at it?
Thanks,

Why not just try the CPS first...if you replace both at once and it fixes the problem, you will have no idea what the original problem was?

The cps seems to have fixed my problems. I still wanted to replace the other today when I get off. I added a bit if marvels mystery oil to the oil this morning to clean a bit before change it today. Do any of you add it to your oil changes from the start? Saw someone say sub 2 quarts of oil with mmo. That seems high. Was thinking maybe just half a quart? Thanks,
Bg

I wouldn't add anything to the crankcase but the correct grade of engine oil, honestly.

NO OIL ADDITIVES! Leave additives for Fuel only.
Think of the CPS as a pace maker in a bad heart.

It's like timing in an old engine.

Run it hard going to work if it doesn't miss a beat, hook up the camper and go.

Throw the other parts in glove box for later.

Another thought on the Marvel Mystery Oil: when it's added to diesel fuel, it actually lowers the lubricity of the fuel. If it does that to fuel, I can't imagine it would actually make engine oil any better.
