Garrett Turbo Rebuild

At what milage interval does the garrett turbo need rebuilding. I will be pulling the turbo soon for o rings and a few other goodies and wanted to see if I should rebuild my turbo. I have 72K on my 2003 - 7.3l

A lot depends on how clean you keep your oil.

I currently have 225,000 on the original turbo, and it has no sign of having problems.

Ive got 296k on my original turbo. Although i plan on doing a rebuild probably this weekend, not because of need, but i want to upgrade to the ww2, and if im gonna go thru the trouble of taking the turbo out of the truck, i may as well do an overhaul of the thing with close to 300k on the clock. it could go on for some time more, but i dont wanna press my luck. no whammy, no whammy, no whammy, STOP!..... I only wanna do it once.

snknby123 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
What orings are you pulling it for exactly? Just curious but like everyone has said, that's low miles for 7.3L and the Turbo. You should be good to go for another 100K as long as you keep the oil and air clean.
