Thought I would alert all Woodie fans that " Woodies on the wharf " in Santa Cruz Calif. Will be held on Saturday June 23, 2018.
It's a free event held on the Santa Cruz wharf with about 200 Woodies. My family and I will be there with our crusty 51 wagon. Please stop by and say hi.

You have a very nice survivor there...fits right in at the show. I usually make it to the Wavecrest show in Encinitas, I believe that it will be held the third week of Sept this year.
Forties Limited will hold its 40 Ford Day show at La Palma Park in Anaheim the day after the Santa Cruz show on June 24th. I may have to go up to LA a day early and take in the Santa Cruz woody show. If so I'll look you up.

They kind of grow on you... I don't have time to drive my home-made ford 1/2 ton woodie to the show, but here's my little slideshow I made about the project. Someday I will make it down there, but it will be a few years yet before this 65 year old can retire. https://spark.adobe.com/video/M0ynvLlPj2GCC

Great video Gary, every time I go visit my parents I have to bring them up to speed on your woodie project! We are all very impressed.

Thanks! I was going to retry the link. I'm not very good at posting links. I will try this a different way with something I'm just now learning. Copy and paste., just in case it works better for some computers. I have not driven my woodie farther than a 24 mile round trip. I was hoping to go to a monthly car night at a bowling alley on the mainland tonight, but there was talk of rain and I don't have any wipers hooked up yet and my windshield is a maze of blotchy clouds. As you can tell, I have a few things to do still before I head down to California. I have ordered 12 pieces of custom glass and a new windshield as well, for a total of 14 pieces. Here's my second attempt..... https://spark.adobe.com/video/M0ynvLlPj2GCC

Very nicely done Gary, nothing like a "phantom" woodie. I built one quite a few years ago but wasn't smart enough to make a video.

2011: I attended the 40's Limited show, along with 3 FTE members from out of town that were staying at my house. It's held on the 3rd Sunday.

What other show is held on the 3rd Saturday in June? F100 Western Nationals Truck Show, at Canyon RV Park, part of the Featherly Park complex, north of the 91 freeway in NE Anaheim.

At the 40's Limited show I attended, there was an all original 1948 Merc woody w/a Marmon-Herrington 4WD conversion.

As in this one? Owned by an FTE member, or was at least the last time we heard from him over on the 1947 and under forum. This one is documented to be original. Many that are today M-H woodies have been converted using donor half ton pickup drive trains. Without the documentation there is no way to know. Stu

That's it and I thought the owner is an FTE member, but couldn't recall his name.

I spoke with the fellow at the show, he said the original owner was a professional photographer.

Accessories include the spotlight, outside mirror and the "bed post" bumper guard.

Roof racks for 4 door sedans and station wagons were made by Coachcraft, a custom body shop in L/A. Are usually seen on 1941/48 Chrysler Town and Country 4 door 'woodie' sedans.

Rudy Stoessel, the owner of Coachcraft used to work for Bowman & Schwartz, a Pasadena custom body shop known for Russ Heinz' Phantom Corsair, Clark Gable's Duesenberg SJ, Errol Flynn's 1941 Packard Clipper convertible and etc.
