GETTING OVERDRIVE
#16
Hello, I was always interested in that carb but never learned the first thing about them. Didn't holley make them during the gas crunch in 74? I would take a guess and say that you'd be happier with a 4160, either in the 450 or 465 cfm size. The 4160 is abundant and inexpensive and even McDonalds sells parts for them.
Also would you recommend rollers? I know you dropped one, but from.my understanding they weren't set up right, correct?
How much of a difference were the 1.7 ratio?
Last off topic post I swear!

I couldn't find those at a good price, had the economaster laying around. But picked up the 625 street demon for 150$ brand new so I'm go I to run that with my dp

If you don't have screw in studs and new springs and slots as opposed to holes, with them polished some, and valve guides, I would not run a higher lift roller. They were bbc rollers.

The owner of the OD contacted me with a reduced offer, and he is also throwing in an extra bell housing. The price now is so low that if I don't use it I can always sell it and make a few bucks. I'm hoping that it is in good working order and that I'll only have get the drive shaft redone.
On one of the sites dealing with this od, they mentioned that one of the nice things about it is that it was designed to be the same length as Ford automatics so the factory could swap without having to use a different size drive shaft.
I'll know more once I get it apart. One of the appealing aspects of this OD is that it can be left on in town for better mpg there too. I like it. I'm sure more info will follow.
