This is what I put in it.

Having trouble finding synthetic

Valvoline.com > Products > Valvoline > Automatic Transmission Fluid Valvoline > Valvoline® ATF for MERCON® V applications

This is what I used in my trans and transfer case.

Valvoline/1 qt. MaxLife Dex/Merc automatic transmission fluid (VV3246) | Transmission Fluid | AutoZone.com

Just bought 4 quarts of redline FULLY SYNTHETIC ATF on ebay for 11.50 a piece. Feel like that's a good deal

Which Red line ATF? IIRC there are at least four. D4 is what I run in the transfer case and E40D.

I really doubt that synthetic ATF is going to resolve this for you.

But if it does, let us know.

Synthetic may or may not resolve the issue. But if the ATF in the tranny isn't synthetic, it's the WRONG FLUID. The OP is chasing her/his tail trying to resolve the issue with the wrong fluid in the tranny.
