Ignition key assembly

I replaced the original key cylinder assembly on Thursday. It is a Locksmart part number LC61770. I have a few ideas for those who may have a bad key assembly. First I did disconnect the battery. Then I removed the plastic shield on the lower part of the steering column. I found that a #20 Torx worked better than a Phillips screwdriver. Turn the key onto the run position, then use the Torx to push the little pin up into the key cylinder. Align the new assembly and it should pop into place. Replace the plastic cover and reconnect the battery. total time less than 15 inutes.
