Trans cooler

Am trying to find a good place for my trans cooler. I have a 79 bronco with. 520 stroker in it. Just had a new trans built. I am replacing radiator and going to an aluminum 3 core. I was thinking I would mount the trans cooler under the radiator support at the bottom of the bumper. It has an electric fan on the cooler also. This seems to be a good spot that will allow the radiator to still get maximum amount if air.

What does anyone have for thoughts or a better place to mount.

I primarily drive on the street and off road in the sand. No winter driving or mud or trails for this toy.

That looks like a good spot to mount it since it wont be going bogging or on trails. Is that fan a pusher or puller? If it is a puller it might be better to change out to a pusher to keep from pulling engine bay heat through it. Dont really know how much difference it would make though.

I ended up not liking where it was. So I put it in front of the radiator, about 2" in front of. I had to trim out some if the grill to make it fit back in but I like it better up there. I can make the fan push or pull. So it will be pushing air where it is now. Should be good for when I'm cruising to get air through it. It definitely looks better behind the grill.

Putting it in the front will give you better airflow vs underneath.

I just hope it won't take away from engine cooling. I have about a 2" gap between the radiator and trans cooler

Might do the Mark vii cooling fan instead of the mechanical fan
