Hi:

- 1989 Ford F250
- Ford 10.25" rear axle with full floating hubs.

Is there a vent hole in the differential? I can't find anything that looks like that. There is a wire coming out of the top, but no vent tube. Am I missing something?

The reason I'm asking is because the pinion seal and one of the axle hub seals are leaking. I thought maybe the vent was blocked or something. But I can't even find a vent.

Help me out.

the vent is where the soft brake line connects to the distribution block that the hard lines connect to that go to each wheel cylinder.
the center of the block is the vent, and then a hose connects to that and goes up to the frame to keep contaminates out.

 

What Tom said...and it's on the axle tube, driver's side, not in the center section itself.
