Are you a truck hoarder?

I think I may be a hoarder. A few years back my wife and I used to travel the country showing dogs, so it was easy to justify why I had 42 hounds. The loss of my job forced me to get rid of them, and I currently only have three. I have collected various things over the years, and recently I began collecting dentsides. Now I have had several of these over the years, a 78' shortbed two wheel drive in my teens, a 73' shortbed two wheel drive and a 79' shortbed 4x4 in my twenties, a 77' F350 in my early 30's. My current collection is a 73' shortbed F100 Ranger, and a pair of 78' shortbed F100 Rangers. I also have my eye on two additional trucks that could be mine as soon as next weekend.

Am I the only one (can't be) that has this issue? I mean, it isn't like I need them, I have 5 other vehicles besides the dents... But I f'n want them! And I want damn near everyone I see. I was about to try to talk the guy at the muffler shop out of his 77' F150 4x4 just this morning. I think I have a problem.

Will my fellow hoarders please stand up!

I don't perceive myself as a hoarder I'm a Fordologist... all Fords except for my DD and my low-buck convertible.

65 Mustang.. it's been in my family since around 1979. My brother was going to sell it to buy his kids some dirtbikes so I bought it from him.... it's a manual tranny too. It's the next project in line and awaiting cowl vents, a tail panel, engine rebuild, and a five-speed swap.

68 Mustang... a$300 buy back in 1992. I've got about $8K into it and it's a nice cruiser.

70 F100.. the grand experiment. Can I squeeze 20 mpg out of an FE? The EFI and five-speed will be removed when I get around to building a FFR Cobra. Meanwhile, it's getting dropped 3"/5", cleaned up underneath, and staying ugly on the outside. 'Don't wanna draw attention to it as someone might steal it.

71 F250... mostly unmolested truck I picked up in May for $1000. A deal too good to pass up. It will be a work truck for my property management side gig.... I can write it off too.

73 F100 4x4.. it's a shortbed which I always liked... the proportions are great. 35s on a 4-inch lift painted camo. The general populace of California views me with suspicion when I'm behind the wheel. Why is that?

01 F150 SuperCrew 4x4... my tailgater to Giants & 49er games and NASCAR race weekends. Hauls five in comfort. It has AC so me and my buds can tour wrecking yards and swap meets for hidden gold.

No. I only have a couple of highboys - a '64, '66, '74, and '77. Also a 1990 F350. And a '72 Chevy.

That's not too bad for being 17 is it?

I'm only 20. Currently I have...

-1991 SWB 4x4
-1980 SWB Flareside, off road buggy, Solid axle swapped in, built it when I was 16, It's due for another rebuild
-1988 Ranger with a 5.0L and a 5 speed, in progress
-1955 F250, an unfinished project, rust free
-1993 Mustang hatch, Rustbucket
-X3 and then some '80 - '96 parts trucks
-1979 F100, LWB 2wd, Southern truck, halfway through frame up build.
-Recently acquired, rust free 1988 Thunderbird LX 5.0L, which replaced the '91 F150 as my DD.

That's not counting all the others that went to the big junkyard in the sky or were sold off.
-1990 Thunderbird SC 35th anniversary edition
-1993 Thunderbird LX 3.8L
-1991 Ranger Ext. cab, 4x4, fully loaded
-1984 f150 ext. cab short box 4x2
-1994 F150 reg. cab long box 4x4

My daily work rig/ rolling tool box is a '79 F-150. My heavy-haul or go-to-town rig is my '76 Crew Cab. I recently bought a '79 140" F-350 Camper Special. It runs but has issues that need to be worked out before it hits the road. My next project will probably be my '74 F-350 dually chassis cab. It will replace my F-150 as my main daily work rig. I've also got a '78 F-250 I bought for the engine. It's stripped to the frame and running gear. Body is shot. A '78 F-250 Ranger Lariat Supercab, a '79 F-350 Ranger Lariat Supercab, a '79 F-250 Custom Supercab, a '61 and a '63 Unibody and the front half of a '64 F-250 with V-8 and 4 speed.

Oh, and I've got a '98 F-150 Supercab I inherited when my mother passed away. I'm thinking about sell it...

Yes! I am a Ford truck and PARTS hoarder. 1979 f250 crew 4x4 is currently the daily driver. 1977 f250 4x4 play toy, camping rig. 1976 f250 2wd was grandpa's truck, now mine. Garbage hauler (other people's crap), cruiser. 1970 f250 2wd, motor donor, waiting to be picked up by its new owner. I'm always looking for another one!

Only have one right now and that's the '93 Bronco XLT, but I totaled my '97 Explorer 5.0 and sold my '05 Dakota to my mother for what I owed on it. I'm gonna talk to my uncle soon about getting my late granddad's 7th gen f150 RCLB with a 302. I want that thing something fierce between sentimental value and cool factor. It'd definitely get built up and be my new DD.

I'm 19 so I'm trying to start my hoarding early.
