Wow.

Sense of humor has left the FTE site today...

Part of my goal with my Comet was 100% mechanical aside from the radio. The Pertronix is in the gray area, I suppose. Pushmowers have a magnetic based ignition, so...

I work on computers and networks. The last thing I want to do on my time off is diagnose a computer problem on a fuel injection system on my fun car hobby.

i consider a pertronix unit one step up from points.
they work the same way, just never have to be fiddled with every 3-4 weeks.
with the exception of the one unit that failed, i have never had to mess with any of the units i have installed.
points on the other hand, on the cultivator tractors on the farm, they were replaced on average every 3 weeks.

If this is the case you might as well ask Fox news how to fix your ford truck ..

3-4 weeks something isn't right. I've been changing the points in my trucks every 10,000 miles with just a dwell check at every 5,000..

Thats a great suggestion, at least you could depend on getting an honest answer.. I also suggest we would better off leaving politics out of our hobbies..

the cultivator tractors will run for 10-12 hours a day 7 days a week.
so 3 week out of a set of points is pretty good. but put a pertronix in and never touch it again is even better.

And you think you get "honest answers" from the other networks ? They don't even cover the story if it pertains to what Obama is doing. All you hear is basically "lifestyles of the presidential family" from CBS, NBC, ABC, CNBC and CNN.
