82 F150 Underhood equipment

I currently dont have anything under my hood equipment wise. I currently have a silver bottle jack behind the seat thats hydraulic that I will try to see if it will mount in the oem location under the hood. I how ever do not have the mechanical jack handle that clips on the front above the radiator, and I do not have any of the tools on the driver side. I know one of them was the lug wrench, but what is the other wrench that goes there?

I have two holes in the fender for two long tools to fit and held down by a double humped hold down bar with the wing nut stud between the two humps.

My final question is what years can I pool from that would be correct for replacements?

I found some newer Ford 2 ton jacks (Ford parts catalog lists E2TZ 17080-A as my jack which is a 2 ton mechanical jack) but not sure if it would mount in the oem location on a 1982 F150. I also found some newer 13/16" lug wrenches and some for mustangs as well but not too sure on if the length is correct.

So far I tracked down the jack handle and the lug wrench but I asked the guy selling if he knows what truck they came from and what the dimensions are of the lug wrench and the jack handle.

If anyone can shed some insight into piecing this back together I would greatly appreciate it, my parts guide shows a generic diagram and only shows a jack handle on the driver side.

Each of the two holes is for the lug wrench that fits its respective lug nut.

so there was two different sized lug nuts on each truck?

Or did each truck get just one wrench and depending on the size determined which hole it mounted in?

The heavier trucks had larger nuts. I presume if it had 8 nuts, theyre larger. 5 nuts....smaller. My F150 has the roof clearance lights on it, which in '83 was unusual, maybe now too. The guy on the assembly line put the bigger lug wrench in it....I guess he looked at the truck and thought F350.

Ah ok so both openings are not used at the same time then.

Guess I will use the other one for holding a cheater pipe for more leverage on the lug wrench.

A note to those who have 16" 8 lug wheels.

The standard screw bottle jack will lift the axle high enough for you to get the flat off, but NOT high enough to get an inflated (stock 235/85 R16) tire back on.
I carry a 3" thick chunk of mahogany to set the jack on before I try to lift it.

Question on the jacks, are they all the same construction wise?

I found one on ebay new for $80 that was a 10 ton F250/350 bottle jack and I am wondering if I got that if it would mount in the stock location under the hood.

I also need to find one that can lift, cause right now the truck rides on 31" tires and not that I have to change the tires out, ive drove the truck on the tire after a chunk of tread came off. Even with 0 psi in it, it just looked like it was a few lbs low, but I would like to have one incase I have to pull the tire off and replace it.

I don't know about if there were jack options.

My truck did have the proper 1 1/16" lug wrench.
You would think they would put the proper jack too.

Based off my ford parts and illustration guide when it comes to bottle jacks they ranged from a 1 1/2 ton mechanical jack all the way to a 3 ton mechanical jack. There was also a 1 1/2 ton electro-hydraulic jack as an option for the 80/ E150/350, F150/350, and the U150.

For my application how ever, its supposed to be a 2 ton mechanical jack part # E2TZ 17080-A.

But I cant find any bottle jacks from the 1980`s, the only thing is I can find them from the 00`s and up though and they appear very simmilar. But I hate to pull the trigger on a $80+ bottle jack and it doesnt fit the underhood mount.

I guess I could always try out that silver hydraulic bottle jack, but then theres no reason having the jack handle for the mechanical bottle jack.

As far as the lug wrench goes, I just picked one up off ebay for $20 with the jack handle, they both came out of a 1993 F150 4x4, and the lug wrench is 13/16 which is correct for an 82 F150.
