Testing oil cooler and hydro lock ??s

First order. I am trying to find a write up on how to test the oil cooler to see if i have a leak between the wayer and oil jackets. I have a cracked egr cooler so im doin a delete. Im also installing a new oil cooler and a few other things. When i was doin my radiatior flush i noticed a small amount of moisture bead up on my oil dip stick. Im kinda hoping i cracked a oil cooler maybe but curious how to test it to see.

Second order. When i parked my truck down hill over night to check for water under egr, it kinda started funny. It turned over just a little bit. Like less than a turn, paused for a half a second, then proceded to crank fine and started. Does the starter have enough *** to blow a head gasket?

Im really hoping to avoid spend $$ on head gaskets and studs because my wife will be delivering our second born in less than a month but if needed i will go ahead and do em while its apart. Thanks for the help in advance. I value yalls opinions greatly.

Sounds like the engine is trying to hydro lock.if you are getting water in the oil you possibly have a craked head,if it's oil in the water(check for oil residue in the degas tank) then you have a blown oil cooler.

Coolant in the oil can be from failed egr cooler.
Hydrolocking wont damage your heads but it can bend up a rod pretty good
