2nd Annual Ontario Lightning Meet N Greet

2nd Annual Ontario Meet N Greet
Saturday, August 16th, 2014
Arthur Fairgrounds - 158 Domville Street, Arthur, Ontario
Noon

Our meet this year will take place at the Ford Truck Nationals in Arthur, Ontario. It runs both Saturday and Sunday. There will be trucks there from the early 1900's right to brand new, Rangers so low you can barely open the doors to Superduty's jacked up so high you need a ladder to get in them.
Saturday is the Show N Shine with a registration fee of $20 per truck for the entire weekend or if you pre-register it is $15. Saturday there is also a small cruise through the paved back country roads, last year we stopped for ice cream along the way, when we get back they will be setting up the Corn Roast for dinner. There will be vendors for food and alcohol all day and night. Bring the kids if you want because they do have activities for them throughout the weekend.
Sunday is also a Show N Shine but Sunday is when they judge and give out prizes for each class. They also do a bunch of door prizes by picking registration numbers out of a bucket, you could win something small like a car care kit all the way up to a old school pickup box. They also offer a longest distance travelled award (Lt Crazy this is something you will probably win lol).
Accommodations: If you want they do offer rough camping at the show for $15.00 for the weekend or Camping with Hydro and Water for $25.00 per night. You can bring your trailers there is spots for them.
If camping doesn't float your boat there is Hotel options. Arthur is a small town with no hotels that I can find but 10-20 minutes away there is Fergus which is a bigger town and offers a few hotels. Most will probably drive thru Fergus to get to Arthur.

20-30 min south of Fergus is Guelph and they offer a slew of hotels.

Hi Ryan my name is Dave Botting and I live In Barrie ON, I'm new to the site. I just bought my F250 in Dillwyn Virgina a couple weeks ago. After going to the Barrie Classic in the park show this weekend that just past I heard about the show in Arthur. I'm planing on going so hopefully if all goes well I will be there, and get a chance to meet some of the Ontario gang on this site.

Looks like we will be there on the Sunday Gang. I have been looking for a Job for 7 years so I can finish the 77. I finally Nailed one but it involves some Saturdays. John.

Unfortunately I will not be making it to the show this year. My dad was going to debut his soon to be finished 51 F1 at the show, but I don't think he's going to make it either.

The plan for me ATM is to go both days and drive back home Saturday night and drive back on Sunday morning. My hope is that none of my clients have any issues so I can have a weekend off.
I'm sorry to hear that you and your dad are not going to be able to make it Loudfords.

Hey PopaJon money to build the 77 up among other stuff comes first, no biggy the beer will be cold on Sunday too.

Hi all.
How are you all doing?
I have a small issue with the truck I'm trying to get worked out ATM, and I'm trying to get it fixed by Friday. The problem is. I have been told by a couple guys that owned my style of truck back in the day, that the rims on my truck and lug nuts are not the right type. After looking at the lug nuts (they are different sizes) and doing a lot of research over the weekend. The rims are universal (for Dodge and Chevy) and not only are the wrong offset but the wrong bolt holes. I have been on both Robert Thibert
and Macpek web sites to get the info on the right rim. If all goes well I will still be able to go and meet you all, but there is a chance I may not be able to make it. Depends on the shipping of the right rim and lugs, I'll re post a update as I have it.

Well, my east coast road trip just got cancelled, so I'm really thinking about coming up Sunday afternoon.
