Any big plans for this weekend?

 

Nothing right now. I need to pull out the bikes and give them a good once over. I havent been riding lately so they have been sitting. I do need to run the truckin for some maintenance soon as well. How about you?

 

I am also pondering stopping in at my local REI store next month for the members only garage sale.

Not really. It is pretty much a clearance sale. They clean out all of the stuff that has been returned. The stuff that is obviously damaged isnt sold but they will sell stuff that was returned undamaged for a giant markdown. REI has a policy that stuff that is returned is only to be sold at the garage sales. And those sales are only open to members of REI.

 

Id like to get a good 4 season tent thats less than 1000.

 

I know what you mean Tim. I would like to as well. The one sale my brother went to he was able to get an otterbox defender series case that was literally brand new in the box for 5 bucks. It had been bought by someone who didnt like and never opened it. The one guys loss was my brothers gain. I know of a few people that have gotten 500 dollar tents for 50 bucks.

 

That is a great deal! I wonder if my REI is having a sale this weekend.

 

They might be Tim. If you pull up the store closest to you you can see what events they have coming up.

 

Ill do that. The closest one to me is in Boise. About 25minutes.

Thanks for checking for me buddy! Ill definitely make a trip. I rarely go there because their prices are poor.

 

REI is one of my go to places for camping stuff anymore. They usually have the really good MSR groundhog stakes in stock that I like to use for my tent guy lines. Also some good stuff for packs and sleeping bags. And the occasional odds and ends that I might want or need. I know I have to finally break down and look for a replacement propane stove to replace the one that self destructed a few years ago. Coleman no longer makes replacement parts for it. Then again they dont make that model stove any more either.

 

They do a lot of bike stuff as well.

 

Yes they do Tim. Two pairs of cycling gloves and a few lights and tool kits have come from REI. I also go to Performance Bike for stuff as well. That is where I get both of my bicycles serviced at.
