Question Aftermarket tach.

Now that I know the redline and power peks for my 4.9L F150 I am considering what kind of tach. to put in I don't need any thing special just a tach. Autozone has an Actron Sun Super Tach II Mini for $34.99. Any of you fellas ever had any experience with these tachs? Are they good for what I need, are there any cons? If they're no good do you guys have any ideas on another kind of fairly inexpensive, no frills tach?

Aftermarket tach.

i bought a tach made by Eqqus (or something like that) basically a cheap knockoff of Sunpro

(haha.. a cheap knockoff of a cheap tach)

it was 24 dollars.. it works great. not bouncy or anything.

hookup was straightforward. I could take a picture of it installed.. I put it on the steering column with the included bracket.

It lights up white, versus green though.. but I think it looks ok.

And since I have a photo.. Here's where I hooked up the green wire to the negative side of the ignition coil:

I wouldn't mind seeing that installed pic. The steering column was where i would install it probably. How long have you had and where did you buy it?

Aftermarket tach.

I've had it installed for like 2 weeks now. I got it at O'Reilly autoparts, since they had the cheapest tach in town.

this is the actual tach I have:

I'll get a pic tonight while I'm out wrenching on the truck... The only view that is blocked is to the water temperature guage. and I can still see the top part of it, but it does cut out some of the view to it.. But I'm planning on installing electrical water temp and oil pressure guages on the pillar at some point..
