I've read all the threads on this subject and even with all the excellent information my truck still won't start. I swapped radios in my truck and now it won't start. It will crank all day, it will fire with a shot of WD40. Fuel bowl fills fast after I drained it and had a strong flow. HPOP and engine have plenty of oil. all my fuses are good. My GPR gets hot!? Which is new also. I have two fresh batteries my tach barely bounces while cranking. Its my first diesel and I'm lost in it.

 

Oh, these trucks won't run with anything other than the original OEM radio. The PCM is locked to it, and once the radio is removed the programming in the PCM is automatically destroyed. Huge design flaw, if you ask me.








Just kidding Do you have any kind of scan tool like AE, Torque Pro, etc.? There are a lot of things that could cause it. Did you pull the radio back out and make sure no wires got cut or pinched and shorted to ground?

Triple check your fuses and check them with a meter. When you turn the key to the on position, or when you start to crank, do any of the dash lights not act normal? (either stay on or don't come on)

 

is your theft light flashing?
on my excursion anytime I change anything my theft light flashes and won't start. if so turn the key to run and let it sit that way I think 1 minute???? ( I just find a project for a few minutes) and than cycle the key and start it.
