Aw crud... I knew someone was going to say the "Clay-bar" word.... These are trucks! Working trucks!
When mine gets washed it will be with a bucket, brush, sponge and a coupla squirts of my wife's Dawn Dishwashing detergent..
Wax? Well, I might once.. But it will be alike waxing a friggen barn! No Zaino here.. It will be whatever I have in the car-car bin in my shop. I think it might be a 20 year old tub of Turtle Wax..

We'll some like to keep their investment looking good inside and out. Just because it's a working truck doesn't mean you can't keep it clean. You want to wax a barn come to my work and wax a 60 foot ladder truck by hand. That's always a fun day out of the month haha.

Chemical Brothers, Adams, or Zainos. All three are great products, easy on and easy off and provide great protection. I just purchased a new SD, while detailing the F150 could be a chore, I have a feeling this one is going to be a lot more like "work".....LOL. I personally stay away from Armor-All on tires and black plastics, over time your plastic will look like a "powdered donut", and I hate the gloss it puts on, especially if you travel a dirt road shortly thereafter. The three brands mentioned above all have products for tires and trim that just gives it a natural look and actually repels dust.

I mainly use Mothers product. Mothers has a good interior cleaner and a good protector. Use a separate metal cleaner on the bumpers. Use a Turtle Wax Black polish on bumper trim.

2002 Avalanche 2500 - Purchased new in December 2001, waxed once in the spring of 2002, washed regularly with dish soap, used WD40 for bug remover.. The interior was dusted and vacuumed after each trip.
I take care of my tools too, but tend not to obsess over them.. They are an investment only in the perspective of being ready and able to do the work I am putting on their backs.. This truck's primary job was to drag a small 10k# racecar trailer around to racetracks around the country. It never let me down other than a couple of niggling fuel pump issues..

The guy that has it now is very happy with it's condition..
This picture was taken last year.

I use Meguiars gold car wash , soak the bugs while you wipe down the rest, Mothers back to black seems good on faded plastics. Carnu-b wax is easy on/off and leaves a good shine, and lasts a while, they also make a cream that renews plastics pretty well.
