spare tire mount/holder complete kit?

hi all,

since the wreck in august of last year, i've had to lug around my spare tire in the bed. i'm ready for it to go back under the backside.

however, when i got hit from the side, the force of impact snapped the wire and my spare tire got flung about 10 ft from the vehicle.

now, correct me if i'm wrong, but do i need to replace the entire winch under the backside? or is there a repair kit to replace the cable with the piece at the end which slots into the spare tire and holds it up?

what's my best option?

thanks all!

I see a visit in Dom's future.
Dom, If you can get me some photos of what you have
I might be able to find you a fix. Aircraft world we make
cables when we need to. So there should be a way to make one.
I am just being lazy and not going out and crawling under the
truck to see how the thing is assembled. I will have a look
in the daylight. But it would help to know what you have left
on yours.

Sure I will. Basically it's missing the entire cable. It snapped and I don't have the cable and tat thing on the end of the cable to hold up the tire. All I have is tat box-looking winch underneath. Lol.

Nice to hear ur coming thru Texas. No offense but if ur not using that entire spare tire mount under ur bed, I'd be willing to pay u for it. How much? And if ur coming thru Texas, which part? I'm in Houston. Worst case scenario, if ur willing to sell it to me, I might have to bother u to ship it too.

Also, if u should decide to sell it to me, maybe I could also bother u to take a picture of the setup so I can tell how to arrange that cable properly. Lol.

No worries and no obligation to sell it to me, boss. I'm still on this project of mine to rebuild the truck up. Just a few more things to go. Lol

Have a great day!

The only to get a better look is to remove the part from the bracket.

I will be going threw Big Lake then Dallas before heading to Atlanta. I honestly have no use for the thing. Due to the snow in up here in Alaska I Figured If i ever needed it I wounldnt want to have to dig to get to it so I just keep it in the bed. So You can have the whole assembly. Just up to you if you wanted to pay the shipping or the gas money.

Thanks boss! I believe I can pay for the shipping if I can trouble u to get it out, pack it and ship it off. Let me know how much and I will send u cash, and to anywhere u want me to send it to. PM me ur address and name. Then I'll reply with my name and address.

Thanks so much! Saves me a trip to the salvage yard.

i doubt he has it. from what i can recall, he never got back to me and i ended up going to the salvage yard. pulled one off a wrecked 7.3 and i'm glad i did. my original damaged one had that stupid lock inside that mount, so the "new" one actually eliminated a possible issue. nice and slow. install was easy. oh and i made sure my spare tire rim was facing downwards because of my tire pressure valve thing.
