400 in a 95 mustang?
Well I have the chance to get a 1995 mustang rolling chassis/body kinda cheap and I have a spare 400. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted such, if so speak please. I also have a chance to buy a np435 (I think thats right) manual trans that has everything to bolt up to the 400. I know fabrication will have to happen all over the front for this to fit. But everything electrical will be basic, no heat or a/c, and i haven't thought of power steering ideas yet. This is all brainstorming and any advice will be taken, thanks.

'96 Mustangs came with 4.6 mod motors. The '95 is basically the same car, so it should swallow a 400 with ease..
400s are about 2" wider than the 302, but 2 to 3" narrower than the 4.6 SOHC.

Now about that transmission......

Go with a top loader for a tranny, 435 will blow chunks in a car, its a work truck transmission no matter how you polish it, wicked strong & durable, but has no place in a mustang.
If you have the motor and are willing to spend some coin on it to make it worth while, give'r, 400's make just as much power as any other 302 or Windsor, just a little more time or money.
