L&L headers for 460,,,, WTF????

Ordered a set of headers from L&L several years ago. loved them. Ordered a set of headers from L &L over TWO MONTHS ago. Kept getting told they were on the way , getting made next week,,,,, getting made next week,,,,etc. now they finally admitted they have no,idea when they will be produced. Lies ,,lies and more lies. The only truth is when they admitted they didn't know ,,,, after two months,,, when they were going to make them.

So, what headers can you recommend for a 96 2wd with 460?

Stock headers. The gain from headers isn't worth the price for them.

The gain over headers versus stock manifolds isn't going to set the world on fire but it is a noticeable difference. If you want the best the thickest bolt flange Banks is the way to go. I had them on my last f350 460 crew and loved them I had that truck for about three years and never touched them once.

We're looking for long tubes for extra low end torque for towing.
We'll look at banks.

As I've noted repeatedly on this forum, headers are way overrated, but if you must, the Banks PowerPack is best in class.

I don't know of to many tuned motors or anybody looking for more performance leaving stock manifolds on . If you can get the air in better and get it out better your gaining.

No mess, no stress with the banks power pack. If you put them on a stock motor you will not see the gains you will have with ported heads, intake, tuning, etc. I have been told that the stock manifold flows sufficiently for mildly ported heads. Spend the money on banks if you can really justify needing headers, or spend the money on rust proofing and keeping your 9th gen in good shape. Both are huge benefits.

This truck was one of mine, passed to my son when he stared to drive. He kept it all thru high school and college. Got a good job right out of school and could have any Ford he wanted. However, he, like me is stupidly loyal to his vehicles. So, because he is getting a new horse trailer soon, he decided to pull the motor and trans out for a freshen up at 330,000 miles.

as @cbakker stated especially for towing use the $1000 headers will cost on a good port job and deck the heads for a little extra compression and your will get more bang for the buck. Nice truck btw.
