Im going old school it wont be pretty but it will work!
I need location and color of the resistance wire. Pls.

 

Near the ignition switch, it's a pink section with writing on it.

 

Does it enter the engine compartment? Or just stored there ?

 

Posts by NumberDummy show it as being 4-5' long depending on year and application.

Mine is coiled up by the bottom of the ignition column.

 

It should be wrapped into the cab harness and shown in this pic as the pinkish one perhaps having a slight rubbery feel to it .



the resistance wire in harness shown in red arrow If you have an 80-86 it is spiced into the cab harness..other years may very especially with other motors etc. This harness will have to have some of the wrapping peeled back to see it as it terminates at the splice that is taped up,
