The past few weeks I have spent buying all the pieces that I could identify that I need for this build. I thought that I had spent a lot of cash at Midfifty and other F100 outlets...that doesn't hold a candle to what Bob Drake and Dennis Carpenter charge for 40 Ford parts. Don't get me wrong...the parts are top notch, I just didn't plan on spending the kids inheritance putting this car together. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I will have the FORD engine mounts in place and the frame down at the powdercoaters...that's when the fun begins.

All floors and firewall are new. I have a built 351W/AOD combo ready to go in. This car has been on my bucket list since high school, almost have to pinch myself now that it's in my garage. Can't wait to get it painted and start the final work on the build...
Chuck,
Just to keep you on Schedule I need to have the car here at your in laws by Labor Day 2015. That way i Can drive it to the Shades of the past show in Pigeon Forge. We can make a stretch goal of late July and I can make the NSRA Nationals in Louisville No pressure though...

I have gotten a couple of enquiries about my progress on this project, I just painted the body today and thought I would share a couple of pics. Color sanding and a few more coats of clear tomorrow and then it will be ready to set back on the chassis.

Not "our" goal in 2015...maybe 2016. NSRA Nats in Louisville would be great. The color is House of Kolor #1544 Shimrin 2 "Teal". In the shade it almost looks black...in the direct sun it really pops, lots of metalflake...so much so that I couldn't use the strainer in my spray cup, it just clogged up. Here is a shot in the sun where you can see more of the sparkle...

Got too many ***** in the air...I still have to paint my 56 and reassemble, chassis is done just need to finish the sheetmetal paint/assembly and get the interior installed. Two other jobs in progress so I get to my stuff as I can. Besides the body/paint work I finished the chassis, so I guess I don't feel like I have been slacking too much...

Charlie its looking really good. Question for ya. I always just cut and buff after I paint but have heard of others cutting and reclearing with thinned out clear and then no need to buff. Is this what you did? it would save so much time to sand once to 1000 and clear over having to sand to 2000 or 2500 and buff.
