What is the torque spec for the lug nuts on a 5 lug 1977 F150 4x4? I'm doing 100ft/lb and I've been checking it every 50 miles since I put new rims on and the fronts I can always rotate them about 10 degrees till the torque wrench clicks... I'm nervous....
I have now put down the torque wrench and went back to what I've done for years. Use a 1 foot long wrench and step on it. This seems to working as the lug nuts are staying tight.
I'm guessing they should be about 150 ft/lbs on the five 1/2 studs.
Here's what Budd specified. Accuride and Kelsey-Hayes are similar. I assume yours are steel, not alloy. On stud piloted nuts they specify dry torque. If yours are not holding torque the studs and nuts might need to be replaced. Stu
