09 F-150 low power/phaser issue
I have a 09 F-150 5.4L 3v that has a low power complaint, no codes, has typical clicking/ticking noise, oil pressure 18-20 psi hot idle, 50 psi on throttle, idle cam phaser duty cyle 0 as it should, driving say 30 mph duty cycle goes to 0 and motor goes flat- no power at all, cam degrees go to zero as well, if I back out of gas a little everything comes back, total spark advance goes to -5 deg when the cam phaser solonoids go to 0. you can feel power go away instantly when it does this. which it will with no timing advance. As far as I know cam phasers should not lock in base timing or zero on throttle? Solenoid duty cycle is controlled by ecm so thinking that may be my issue, I am going to try a test ecm, can not find any other issues, both banks do exact same thing every time you are accelerating, dont think its a solenoid or phaser issue being it does it everytime and both banks act same way, its like ecm is thinking its at idle and is turning them off, tps/ throttle sensors do not drop out or act up at all, throttle percentage is consistant all the way. just seeing if anyone has run into this, talked to a buddy at ford garage who is a master tech and he had no ideas. Thanks
