Solenoid Replacement on a 77 F-150
Just curiouis as to if anyone knows what the solenoid would be drawing for amps on a 351m, automatic. The reason I ask is I have just gone through 2 new cheapo solenoids and wondered if a solenoid that is rated for more amps be better or does any one have a brand they recommend?

I am not sure what to tell you. The newer solenoids seem to be junk, everyone seems to have the sticking problem with them right after they put them on. A good guess would be 100-150amps depending on the temp outside.
I don't know if the motorcraft brand is any better or not. Everyone seems to be getting their parts from China now. A old one out of the junkyard may work better than anything.

Yes, not sure either. Bought 2 brand new ones and have killed one and the other is sticking. A buddy of mine was wondering about a solenoid from a diesel as it would be able to draw more power. I was just curious if this would be a route to go as I would think if it had to draw more power than what was needed, then maybe, it might be built a little better.
