Good morning. Did Ford offer a "Towing Package" on their '87 F150 XLT Lariat truck? My truck has a 4 pin trailer connector at the back and an open 4 pin connector under the dash above my right shin. The truck came off a hourse ranch in Texas and was used to pull small horse trailers. Wondering if this open 4 pin connector could be the hook up for a brake control. Thanks.

Does the truck have factory trailer wiring in the back. IE: turn tail brake.
It sounds like it is the brake control plug.
This is the plug under the bed.

 

He said 4 pin under the dash and your bottom photo shows the six pin plug of the 90's.

 

Thanks for the reply. No, the plug I have under the dash is a flat, inline plug. After examining the wiring and comparing to Crewcabber's image it all appears after market. Thanks again.
