Smile Another from oz

Hi all, My name is Rob, Ive recently imported a 54 f100 from Oregon and in the process of a tidy up and repaint, Glacier blue this time. Always wanted an effy since I was a kid and the time was right for this one. Will post pics when I can. Will be similar to another Ive seen on this forum. Hope to share as well as learn from the experiences on the forum.

Hello Rob, welcome aboard, nice bunch of people here. Good to have another sort of local Effy. I look forward to seeing your car and hearing your experiences with it. I bought mine when on holiday in US from Apple Valley in California. I have done a lot of freshening up mechanically, and more to do interior wise but no body work.

Hope all goes well with your truck.

Cheers

Hi Neville and aussiecowboy, I live in melbourne on the mornington peninsula. Ive been following this site for a while and find as you say Nev it has a nice bunch of people. Ive also ordered a big box of stuff from mid fifty as they got a good wrap on here. Dealing with them so far has been very easy. Would highly recommend. My truck will be left as a stocky atm but will look cool with the ww tyres. ( oops or is it tires now lol. )

Are you going for the bias ply tyres or the radials with wide whites. Mine came with new bias ply tyres, I have been hoping to put on radial wide whites but also want to go to 17 or 18 inch wheels, can't decide which ones yet. Unfortunately I have spent so much getting work done (mechanically useless) that I can't get them now. One day hopefully, I believe they would handle better. Diamondback I think is the company, about $400 each though.

Neville, Antique Tyres in Melbourne should be able to supply radial white walls cheaper than that .

Scott, thanks for the info, I don't know anything about them, although I have heard good reports about Diamondback. Some one on here just recently mentioned he has had them on 3 or 4 cars. Do you have any experience with Antique Tyre companies products at all?

Hi Neville , yes I have bought from them before .
They have a huge range of tyres and also sell wheels , tubes , hub caps etc etc .
Last time I priced wide white radials they were around $350

I bought my wide whites from antique tyre, they are great to deal with, I have bought 5 or 6 sets of tyres there now. I went for coker classic radials with a 4" wide white for my F3. The diamondbacks are just a whitewall added to a radial tyre.
