Steel box for sure while attempting to make something look similar to how Ford might have done it.

***This plastic one might be for sale, not sure yet.

Tool box out for blasting.

Tailgate trim install starting with nylon clips, after aligning a straight edge between the two end screws, we drilled holes for the rivets. Decided in interest of assembly and maintenance, to go with #6 screws to attach clips. Rivets can still be Used.

How do you plan to shorten the original plastic "box" for the in bed storage box... or do you have some other trick???

Looks awesome!

While you are welding in the area you may want to add a strengthing bar to the lower part of the bed below the door... it's a pretty weak section a sheet metal and I've seen mine flex when I put lots of stuff in the storage box. There was a thread somewhere on here about doing this but I can't find it.

I'm wondering what sort of tools were envisioned for the original, larger toolbox and how the modern replacements you have in mind compare to that.
The shorter toolbox just looks better.

That box will not interfere with your exhaust, will it? If I remember right you had fenderwell headers. Can't remember if you ran the pipes yet. Looking Great!

Inner bed tool box mounting bracket:

Slightly modified to fit foreword of first bed crossmember:

Attaches to floor in first rib as designed:

Edit: will not be using this bracket as it appears in these pics. Will be modding one end and welding it on like a tab.
