What's the fan plan?

My '77 F-250 Camper Special w/ 460 (parts truck) didn't have a fan shroud but did have the four row radiator and a clutch/fan combo. So, will you be using a fan/clutch combo as well or something else?
BTW, when I took the old radiator to a radiator shop with a good local reputation, they advised me that I'd be better off buying new rather than re-coring. This came to $229 plus tax at O'Reiley's for a new four row radiator. I still have that old radiator and wonder whether I should get it cleaned up, not re-cored, and use it for some other project. What was your thinking that led to re-coring as opposed to a refurb?

I will be going with a 19" Derale heavy duty flex fan. They look to be well constructed and in line with what I want on this build.

I am a huge fan of reconditioning original parts as much as I can. Ford used that radiator from factory with 3 rows. Re-coring with high efficient rows and adding a row while I am at it exceeds what Ford originally did... sounds like a good choice to me. I'm not sure what quality your $229 four row is (was it made in China?) but I know I am more than happy to re-use any original Ford part that I can.

Clicked on the first page and read the whole thing tonight! What got me was how good the truck looked until the 3rd pic when the roof rot appeared. Then the fabrication hooked me for the rest.

Nice work!

Thanks guys.

Installed the new 19 gallon gas tank and treated the core support with eastwood anti rust. Won't let me upload pics right now, I'll try again later.

Tank was top coated with rustoleum aluminum metallic finish.

NOS Fuel Sending Unit.

Typical LMC. Had to cut off the tabs from the top tank straps and weld larger ones on.

Lower straps were coated with 3M rubberized undercoating and anti squeak rubber straps on top.

Coated the whole core support with Eastwood anti rust. (forgot to post this a couple weeks back)

Setting the Standard

I must say that I am totally awed by the incredibly high standard this project has set. My next project ('76 F-100) will definitely be heavily influenced by what you've done here. I will aspire to this standard insofar as my meagre talents and pocketbook will allow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Per_aspera_ad_astra.

Thank you. That is quite the compliment.

Havent gotten too much done this past week. Acquired a steering wheel though...

I can't think of any other steering wheel that would be acceptable for this build. The Factory Ford Sport Steering Wheel.

That's a nice wheel. I have one in my "77 F150 Reg cab shortbed Ranger Explorer"
Or pretty darn close to it.

Great work man. I love that wheel and would love to find one for my '77. Where did you find it?

Thank you, it was a gift from the Nordic Gods.

Got the drive shaft made. 1350 yoke. New MSD wires, cap, rotor and new plugs. Installed the kick down linkage, Edelbrock 1726 Performer RPM Street fuel pump. Not the best pic...
