Truck bed fuel tank removal?

1997 F250 Crew has an extra 36-40 gal (in bed) fuel tank. I'm thinking of removing it since I don't travel far enough to really need it. Would it be difficult to remove it? Is it something I would be able to sell if I took it out? Looks to be made of steel. It is the same width of the bed and has its own filter plumbed in. If it's a BIG job to take it out, I may leave it in. Thanks!!!!

Removal is a function of how it's plumbed into the existing fuel system. Since it's aftermarket, that would be a guess on anyone's part. You might want to contact the mfr. of the tank, or if possible the previous owner, about the plumbing. It would DEF. be worth something to sell; new tanks are mui expensive. Most likely market would be those exploring alternative fuels.
