2007 Ford Explorer XLT

Having overheating issues. Have replaced the thermostat, and waterpump. Was still overheating so we finally took to a shop. $400 later they said it was the thermostat housing, so that has now been replaced as well. IT'S STILL OVERHEATING! Only seems that happen with A/C on. I've only had this truck for about 14 weeks and of course the dealership has told me basically, tough. Help! It only has a little over 94,000.

A couple of things to check if you haven't already.

Is it losing coolant? Do you smell fuel in the coolant? Go to some place where they will pressure test your cooling system to see if there is a leak.

Maybe the radiator is clogged? Does it overheat only when moving? Under load? Sitting still?

Is the fan clutch working? Watch the fan when you shut off the engine; it should stop quickly, and not continue to spin. When you replaced the water pump, did you notice if there was a lot of oily build up on the fan clutch? That usually indicates that its viscous fluid has leaked, and will be less (or not) effective.

I Think... This truck has an electronically variable fan clutch . That said , check for codes , wiring to the fan clutch , etc ... Best of luck !
