Cooling Fan Strategy update


Some of us in the hotter areas are already hearing our cooling fans run at 100%...like an F-16 taking off.....see post at

In that thread you can see the 2011 vs. 2013 Cooling Strategy Table compared

As the Op on that thread, I would like to have someone in the Phoenix area PM me if you would be willing to use your tuner to modify just the fan strategy to the old 2011 one or tell me of a shop that has a tuner that could do the mod....


There are those that think spinning them faster almost all of the time improves the cooling but, as a 2011 owner for two years in Phoenix heat, the old strategy worked just fine even on 110 + degree days and did not have all the irritating noise to deal with.

As a general rule, a "tune" can only be used on one vehicle at a time.

IIRC, when you download the "tune" the tuner records the VIN and can only be used to remove the "tune" from that vehicle.

Then it would be possible to tune another.

 

Thanks....seems so simple....lol....do shops have tuners that can just tweek the cooling fan table.....that is all I want to tinker with....I obviously have never dug into the tuner world.....want to keep my 2013 warranty (100k extended) intact....but this fan thing drives me and my wife up the wall....thanks for the reply....will continue to look for a way to
"get 'er done".....could the offending service update that DID this be removed by the stealership!!??

 

There are hardly any shops that actually custom tune the Ecoboost. It's pretty much a market for mail order hand-held devices. But you're lucky, you have a real tuner next door.

Called Full-Race and sadly they do NOT do tuning on EB or any other units. Can anyone tell me which hand-held tuners will change the strategy table....may have to invest in one but do not want to get one that does not do what I REALLY want to change....
