stock wheels/ disc brakes

I have a chance to buy some stock 16" steel wheels. Anyone use those wheels with disc brakes? Anyone know if it can be done? Right now I have drum brakes and plan to stay that way but would like to know if these wheels preclude me from changing to disc. I have a 9" rear end if that makes a difference. Thanks, Matt

They're narrow enough and large enough they should easily clear the typical disc brake kit pieces. I've never heard of anyone having an issue. Where you have a problem is when the wheels are too small and the rim hits on the caliper.

The only problems I've seen is if the caliper rubs the inside center of the wheel. Sometimes the shape of the center, or the width of the caliper cause problems. Not on F1's in particular, but on old cars in general.

Nope, running outer bump 16x5 wheels and front disc brakes for years.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I think it was a good deal but my $ tree dried up and died overnight because of the drought. Maybe next time. Matt
