Vibration after regearing to 488
Seems I am getting a vibration 40-50 mph that goes away when accelerating, but at any speed on and off the gas it vibrates. I have did numerous searches and the out come was u joints .After this install the shop who installed the gears and test drove the truck took it to a 4x4 guy that stated the pumpkin angle will have to be changed inline with the transfer case .(guy has been in business for years)The 6 inch suspension lift is by skyjacker . I have not had time to check u joints , other than moving side to side and I feel the proper way is actually removing the whole shaft. Just wanting input from those who have re geared and installed a 6 inch lift ,opinions. I know it has been stated in this forum before, that the 6 inch lift is fine with the stock shaft and anything over would need a different shaft. The truck had no vibration with the 355 gears and the 6 inch lift . Thanks TR

Update -- any one considering a lift --good info @ tom woods drive shafts . The 488 gears are turning faster in my bronco and the angle of the shaft is 24 degrees. My xfer case is at 5 degree and the pinion with 4 degree shims 10 degrees leaving the true angle of the shaft at 14 degrees. manufactorers like 7 degrees.(pretty conservative ). This website is pretty educational about lifts and vibrations, Now it time to re shim , already had both drive shafts re built and re balanced .
