92 turn signal and 96 turn signal

I'm just curious, I have a new turn stalk from a 96 and I figured since the 92 is just a tad sloppy, could I use the 96 in the 92?
Back side of the 96 unit is missing pins in 379 and 380, where as the 92 has em.
Is it needed or what have you?
