Weird turbo sound while towing

I towed a 12' enclosed trailer today 400 miles.

DP Tuner, and started off using 80 tow tune. Truck was sluggish. Switched to 80e and ran much better.

When making 12 to 18 pounds of boost the turvo starts making a very strange noise. Almost like a belt squeel or blow off valve noise. Its like a ch ch ch ch ch ch sound.

Goes away if more than 20lbs or under 12lbs of boost is being made.

Happens most prominently when in over drive. If the rpms go up over 2k it settles down.

Trailer and load weighs about 4500lbs I would guess.

Have towed heavier weights before and have not heard this sound before. Have 400 more miles to go tomorrow.

Definitely sounds like turbo surge. You need to either downshift, slow down, or speed up - whatever it takes to avoid the surge because it will eventually kill your turbo.

Turbo surge, most definitely.
Mine does the same thing. Anything over 12lbs boost under 2000 rpm it will surge bad.

I have an ATS ported housing to cure it, just have to install it.
