Factory 460 also have that crazy snake of a lower radiator hose!

I'm pretty sure the radiator is a LOT bigger too.
I don't know if the 460 rad support has a bigger opening like the diesel trucks do.

Yeah I'm getting the radiator that was with it. He said it is brass and at least a four core. Looks pretty good.

The hd cooling rad for the 351 is the same as the 460 rad.
A brass rad doesn't bolt in your truck, I highly suggest getting the proper aluminum rad that drops in your truck.
The rad mounting and construction changed in 84 so it's either an 83-84 rad that you can make work or a 70's one that won't fit at all.

I'm not sure what the radiator is in my 460.

I do know the towing package came with 'super cooling', whatever that is.

Minimum 3 core radiator and a second transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator. My 351M (now 408) has it.

The few things I'll add:

I used L&L swap mounts. Super easy but people have in the past separated the steel from the rubber. The newer production mounts are supposed to be a lot better. For my build at 500+hp, I am a little worried for longevity to be honest.

Factory equipped 460 trucks have the notched crossmember as well as an angled filter union. You need both together to mount a filter, otherwise run a remote kit like said. My 460 Remote Oil Kit.

For springs, I went with the 2wd HD coils from Blue Oval Truck Parts Coils. I did some more digging, can't quite recall but that is what my super cab long box with camper package would've come with from factory over the standard sprung coils. I'm also running a bunch of aluminum goodies though and don't weigh in much more then the all iron 351W I pulled...

Assuming if you get the rad, you're getting the rest of the accessory mounts? Everything should be pretty simple, driveshafts etc.. Nothing else comes to mind.

You haven't been in here in, like, 3 years now, so you don't count.

He had the 460 in an 83 stepside. So I believe well make it work.

Hey I just skimmed threw this, thought I would give some of my opinion's too.

Just like everone else has said, just use F250 2wd mounts and the perches that are mounted on the frame. I drilled the rivets out and use an air hammer to get them out.

When I did the swap, I just used the stock F250 radiator and hoses, the radiator fits just fine in the core support.

For the springs, I first tried the Moog's #822, But the front end sat way to tall for me, So I tried the #820 and was happy with height.

Just as others have said, you will need an oil filter relocation kit, the reason why I have had issues with mine is, I am using rubber hoses, and where I have the hoses routed threw the cross member, it keeps getting snagged on a couple sharp edges. I just havent gotten around to smoothing the area out.

As for drive shafts, you will need one made for you. But thats easy and only like $200 bucks.

Good luck with the swap, it is worth it once your done!

What is the issue with the drive shaft after the engine swap? Too long?
I didn't need to modify my rear drive shaft when I swapped in the 460 in place of the stock 351W - but I also did a suspension lift (so maybe that compensated).
I did need to modify my front drive shaft due to the lift.

Well my truck is 2wd, so that may be part of it. Also my truck from the factory had the 300/C4. So when I put the C6 in the truck, the transmission sat further back then the C4 did. But if the truck come with a C6 orginally, you may not need to get a drive shaft made.

I think that is the main reason for the driveshaft change. If it had been a C6 to C6 swap (such as a 351W) it may not have required one. But I'm not versed enough in the options to know if there ever was a 460/C6/9" combo in an F150 factory. I think it might have only been a F250 power plant.
