D2teaa

Hello there. I have a question for some heads. I sent mine in to be repaired and now I'm sitting at a 1000 bill. Warped exhaust face. New seats guides etc. which way should a guy go? Spend the money and get edelbrocks? Or what other heads would work? It's a bush truck. Don't want to be warping anything.

If it's a bush truck I wouldn't go aluminum. I'd stick with cast iron.

That's what I'm thinking. Which other heads could I possibly run? With the same header bolt pattern? 1000 bucks to r n r them it's kinda touch to swallow.

Heads from the same engine family. And if it's a FE, stick with truck heads.

just be sure to watch the CC size .
here's a link to the Casting # break down .
opps wrong link , google the d2 and what ever replacement you find and check CC size , if you have truck pistons you already have low CR so try to find a head with less CC to bump your CR

The old heads didn't have hardened exhaust valve seats. No unleaded fuel back then. Were they added when someone rebuilt them? If not I wouldn't buy 'em.

So your saying if the hardened seats were added. Don't bother buying them?

How could you tell by looking at the pistons?
