7.3 Starts then Stalls

Hey guys take a look at the video of my truck below. Any idea on what it could be? It won't stay running. This video is the longest I've gotten it to run. I ran it last weekend fine. Let it sit this week when it was pretty rainy and now I've got this problem. Any ideas?

Do you have a spare CPS? I noticed that the tach doesn't move when cranking...easy to check and you should have a spare with you at all times anyway. Don't get one at a auto parts store, get a genuine Ford or IH.

Well, you've got an SES light. Do you have any way to read the codes?

I ended up getting it running, it just started for me and I kept the rpms at about 2k for a minute and then it died. Started it up and same as video. Started it again and kept it at 2k then idle then giving the pedal a hit a few times. Seems to be okay now. Anyone have any idea what coulda caused it?

The way the tach was jumping around, I'd lean toward something CPS related. It may not be the sensor itself, but they're inexpensive and easy to change. It could be a wiring problem, bad ground, or even moisture in a connector, too.

No, had it been definite I would have stated that. It just seemed to me an electric sensor problem and the tach was acting weird - cranking showing 0 RPM. It is an easy swap and you should always carry a spare anyway because if you don't have a spare, when it gives out you will be on the side of the interstate at 2 AM in the rain , with no spare CPS. Oh and carry the correct wrench to change it out too.
