I got the inner fenders and a few other parts in and with all the wet weather I was able to lock myself down for awhile and make some progress on getting the front end reassembled, still. There is no rust left on this truck and it's taking time but hey that's all we have is time.

The inner fenders turned out great

Core support powder coated a d front upper and lower valances were blasted and primed.

19" mustang rims

She is starting to go back together and look like a truck again.

With almost all the weight back on the front end I don't know if I like the height, so I may look at some options to lower it a few inches

What is the height from the floor to the bottom of the fender well above the front wheels? I'm almost done with my truck and I am now considering doing this swap...should have before I got as far as I did...the build looks great by the way!

Thanks!!! I'm considering doing a shockwave airbag system. I don't want to "lay frame" but lower for sure

I was checking out the progress, slow of course but it's getting there, the front clip is together and back in place, I want it to last another 50 years so it's worth taking the time and doing it right.

After......

Before...

Nice work! It's good to see you went with black on the core support. That lets the beauty of these cool grilles stand on their own without the distraction of the body color showing through that area and cheapening the overall look of the truck. That's a personal opinion, of course.

I picked it up from Dennis Carpenters in NC, it's a 64 and I had it modified to match the 66, I took the old one and the new one to a fabricator and had him match it up.

Thanks, I agree I want the grill to stand out, not sure yet what the final color will be.

what makes you choose that system, I'm skeptical on an airbag system because I don't want to take up space with all the extras that come along with it, at the same time the front end needs to drop about another two inches. I need to get the bed and everything else installed and check the stance then but I do want to drop the front a small bit so I'm thinking of just modifying the front struts ..... What are your thoughts?

I ordered the new transmission and it should arrive by the end of the month, so I decided to pull the motor early and get a few other things done as well. The oil pan drain plug landed right on the crossmember so I had to swap out the oil pans. Since the motor is out it gets cleaned up as well

The clutch appears to be in decent shape so it will get reinstalled, that saves some money and that makes me happy

The new transmission arrived, T5 with an adapter plate that needed to be installed on the bell housing. The adapter is on and getting ready to install the motor.

I had time to get back at it today, the new transmission arrived weeks ago and I fixed the adapter plate to the bell, and am putting the motor in first then the trans from below only because I'm on my own today
